Frequently Asked Questions

CBD FAQs

What is cbdWhat is CBD?

Cannabidiol, or CBD for short, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that naturally occurs in hemp. CBD works in conjunction with the body’s Endocannabinoid System (ECS) to help maintain a state of internal balance.

How does CBD work?

CBD binds to the CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors of the body’s endocannabinoid system. CB1 receptors are present predominantly in the central nervous system, lungs, vascular system, muscles, and gastrointestinal tract. CB2 receptors are found in the bones, skin, and spleen. Both CB1 and CB2 receptors are found in bone marrow, the liver, and the immune system. These receptors suggest that cannabinoids play an important role in the immune system’s effects on inflammation and pain.

What is the Endocannabinoid system?

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids, which are endogenous lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors (CBRs), and cannabinoid receptor proteins that are expressed throughout the vertebrate central nervous system (including the brain) and peripheral nervous system.

What is the difference between THC and CBD?

Although both THC and CBD are cannabinoids, they both have very different effects when consumed. THC has psychoactive properties and promotes the production of Dopamine, giving the user a euphoric ‘high’ feeling.

Will CBD make me high?

No. CBD helps your body to create its own cannabinoids to help handle anxiety and inflammation, and it limits your body from overproducing enzymes that break down cannabinoids quickly so that your body can enjoy the effects for a longer amount of time. Since CBD is non-psychoactive, the effects will not make you feel high. There are many myths and rumored hearsay regarding what is factual about CBD. To avoid subscribing to CBD myths, we encourage you to stay properly educated.

Will CBD show up on a drug test?

A high-quality CBD product with minimal THC levels is very unlikely to show on a drug test. However, depending on what is being tested for and everyone’s body processing CBD differently, it is possible to show up on a drug test, albeit highly unlikely.

Are there side effects of using CBD? Is it safe?

The most commonly reported side effects regarding CBD consumption include dry mouth, low blood pressure, lightheadedness, and drowsiness. CBD oils produced by CO2 extraction are much safer and purer than oils that were produced with liquid alcohol/thinning agents. In June 2018, the World Health Organization concluded that “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.”

What is water-soluble CBD?

Water-soluble CBD takes the same CBD extract used in our tinctures. We use high-frequency ultrasonic pulses to help encapsulate small, microscopic CBD Extract particles inside larger, all-natural droplets. The larger droplets are designed to attach to water molecules, so instead of filtering through the stomach like most ingested tinctures, the water-soluble CBD can instead enter the bloodstream faster and more efficiently. The effects of water-soluble CBD can be felt within minutes of consumption. Since your body can absorb virtually all of the CBD ingested this way, we commonly recommend taking ⅓ of your regular tincture dosage.

What’s the difference between Natural and Organic Ingredients?

We believe that the best foods come from the earth. And we know that nothing is better for you than what nature intended. That’s why we create our products with only the highest quality ingredients—all-natural and free of any artificial additives or preservatives.

Organic ingredients refer to any item made without pesticides, fertilizers, or herbicides.

Natural ingredients mean we only choose ingredients from nature!
